INI-CET July 2026 results declared on 23 May 2026. 51,184 candidates qualified across UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS categories. Cutoff: 50.17% (UR/EWS), 45.29% (OBC/SC/ST). Full breakdown.

AIIMS released results for the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI-CET) July 2026 session on 23 May 2026. The exam was held on 16 May 2026. A total of 51,184 candidates have been provisionally qualified for postgraduate admissions at AIIMS (all campuses), PGIMER Chandigarh, JIPMER Puducherry, NIMHANS Bengaluru, and SCTIMST Trivandrum.

Category-wise Qualified Candidates

CategoryQualified CandidatesQualifying Percentile
UR (Unreserved)24,39950.17
OBC17,16545.29
SC4,44445.29
EWS3,96450.17
ST1,21245.29
Total51,184

The qualifying percentile for UR and EWS candidates is 50.17. For OBC, SC, and ST candidates it is 45.29. These are minimum qualifying thresholds — a candidate must score above this percentile to be eligible for counselling. Seat availability is far lower than the number of qualifiers.

Overall Rank 1: SC Category, General Merit

The overall Rank 1 (100.0 percentile) is shared by two candidates — one UR and one SC. The SC candidate applied under General merit, not under the SC reservation quota. This means they competed in the open pool and ranked first across all 51,184 qualifiers. The best ST rank in the country is 108.

About INI-CET

INI-CET (Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test) is the single entrance exam for PG medical admissions at India's Institutes of National Importance. It is conducted twice a year — for January and July sessions. The exam covers MD, MS, DM (6-year), MCh (6-year), and MDS programmes.

Institutions covered:

  • AIIMS New Delhi and all AIIMS campuses across India
  • PGIMER, Chandigarh
  • JIPMER, Puducherry
  • NIMHANS, Bengaluru
  • SCTIMST, Trivandrum

INI-CET is separate from NEET PG. Candidates applying to these institutes appear for INI-CET, not NEET PG. Counselling for INI-CET seats is conducted by each institute independently — there is no centralised MCC counselling for INI-CET seats.

What Happens Next

Qualified candidates will need to register separately for counselling at each institute they wish to apply to. Each AIIMS conducts its own counselling based on INI-CET rank and category. PGIMER, JIPMER, NIMHANS, and SCTIMST follow their own counselling schedules. Candidates should monitor the official websites of each institute for counselling dates and seat matrices.

The number of seats available is a small fraction of the 51,184 who qualified. For reference, AIIMS New Delhi has approximately 100-150 PG seats across all specialities. Rank and category determine which institutes and specialities are accessible.
