Why Chhattisgarh is Different

NC/Female/EX Sub-Categories
CG uses Category-SubType format: UR-NC (Non-Creamy/Normal), UR-Female, UR-EX (Ex-serviceman). Each is a separate pool: OBC-NC, OBC-Female, SC-NC, SC-Female, ST-NC, ST-Female.
Strong Government Presence
With 10 government vs 5 private colleges, CG is government-heavy. Pt. JNM Raipur is the flagship. New government colleges being added regularly.
Large Tribal Population
CG has significant ST population. ST seats have much wider closing ranks than UR. If you have an ST certificate from CG, your options are significantly better.
CG VYAPAM / DME conducts counselling
CG Professional Examination Board (VYAPAM) and DME conduct MBBS counselling. AIIMS Raipur goes through AIIMS counselling. Note: The official 2025 CG admission brochure (41 pages) is a scanned PDF; specific eligibility rules and fee details will be updated once a text-searchable version is available from CG DME.
