If you're allotted this seat and a better one might come free in the next round — do you hold it and stay in for the upgrade, or let it go?

Round 1 is a no-penalty exit — not joining keeps your deposit. From Round 2, not reporting to an allotted seat forfeits your ₹2 lakh security deposit. At Vardhman Mahavir Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital, 3 in 4 who ended here were here from Round 1, and kept it — of 164 who ended here in 2025, 160 were here from Round 1; the rest upgraded into it later. Across counselling last year, 6,686 students were allotted a Round-1 seat and did not report — and 6 in 10 of them did not appear in MCC counselling again. MCC's records are national only, so a state-quota seat does not show up in them. So name it now, in the calm: a seat you'd hold, or one you'd release. To move up, report and stay in for the upgrade — you keep this seat while you try for a higher one. On result day you get hours, not days.

Where does this college go on your list — near the top, or lower down as a seat you'd be glad to keep?

MCC walks your list top-down and gives you the highest seat at your number — the ones below it are never looked at. The order is the seat, not the rank. Put a seat you'd settle for above one you'd choose, and it's the one you get. Name where this goes — above the seats you'd rather have, or below them as the anchor you're sure to hold.
