Section 1

Why Jharkhand is Different

CML (Combined Merit List) Ranking
JCECEB uses CML rank (state merit list) instead of NEET AIR for allotment. Your CML rank is derived from NEET score but is a separate state ranking. Closing ranks shown are CML numbers, not AIR.
BC-I and BC-II Split
Jharkhand splits Backward Classes into BC-I and BC-II. These are separate reservation pools with different closing ranks. Know which sub-category you belong to.
Large Tribal Population
Jharkhand has significant ST population. ST seats have wider CML closing ranks. If you have a Jharkhand ST certificate, your options improve significantly.
JCECEB conducts counselling
Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) conducts MBBS counselling. AIIMS Deoghar goes through AIIMS counselling. Manipal Tata MC goes through MCC deemed counselling.

Forfeiture Rules — Clause 17(b)

Round 1
Forfeiture applies only from R2 onwards. R1 non-joining does not trigger deposit forfeiture — security is refunded. Candidate can participate in R2.
Forfeiture
Round 2 onwards
Security deposit forfeited if seat allotted in R2 or any subsequent round and candidate does not join. Also forfeited if admission cancelled for wrong information or missing original certificates.
Refund
Clause 17(c)
Deposit refunded within 3 months after the last round if candidate participated but no seat was allotted in any stage. Refund to source bank account.
2 years
Service Bond
Government graduates must serve 2 years in rural/tribal areas of Jharkhand. Bond penalty ₹10–25L for breach. Manipal Tata Medical College is treated as private for state quota purposes (Clause 19).
