Counselling Structure

AGMC Agartala (Agartala Government Medical College) is Tripura's only government PG centre.

SQ
State Quota
50% of AGMC Agartala PG seats. Tripura domicile required. Very few seats per speciality.
Eligibility: Tripura domicile. NEET PG qualified. ST reservation reflects tribal demographics.
AIQ
All India Quota
50% of AGMC seats under MCC counselling. Open to all India.
Eligibility: Any NEET PG qualified. No domicile restriction.
Non-Domicile Seats — Check PG Applicability
Tripura UG counselling has a unique feature: 95 non-domicile seats WITH SC/ST reservation. Whether this applies to PG is not confirmed for the current year. If the same rule applies to PG, it means non-domicile SC/ST candidates could access state quota seats — highly unusual in India. Verify from the latest Tripura DME brochure whether PG also has non-domicile seats with SC/ST reservation.

Opt-in Bond — Decline Stipend = No Bond (AIQ)
Tripura has an opt-in bond system for AIQ candidates. If you decline the state stipend, you are not bound by the service bond. This is unusual — most states impose bonds regardless of stipend choice. For AIQ candidates who don't plan to serve in Tripura, declining stipend to avoid the bond is a viable strategy.

India's Smallest PG
With just 17 government seats at a single college (AGMC Agartala), Tripura has one of India's smallest PG ecosystems. Each speciality may have just 1-2 seats per quota. Competition is extremely concentrated.
